I’m willing to live & work in Adelaide in coming 3-4 months,

Please suggest me, which are the nice suburbs and good locality into those suburb to live, I like the area where nice people are living and amenities should be slightly closer , so that I can walk to bus stop, local grocery super market or something like that.

I checked some accommodation websites offering 120 AU$ P.W. rental

So, I’m looking a furnished 1 bedroom accommodation in the range of 500AU$ PM

I heard that north or north eastern suburbs are rich locations.

Please tell me which are prestigious areas in north or north eastern parts or any other parts you think nice locations to live

  1. The nicest suburbs are probably in the east or west, rather than the north. Anywhere near the city is nice. The eastern suburbs are generally considered to be the most upmarket, also the (western) beachside suburbs eg Glenelg.

You will have trouble finding a furnished apartment as they are generally rented unfurnished in Australia.

    Good luck

  2. Places like Brighton and Glenelg and places along that coast are VERY nice and exclusive places to live.  However my son lives in Northfield and I think it is a nice area.  People say Elizabeth is not so good and you had better check out Salisbury.  Personally I have been here 7 months and I havent seen places that are that bad personally.

Just spent a couple of days in Victor Harbour and that was WONDERFUL!

  3. 'Prestigious' areas are kind of spread around a bit.

Unley, Parkside, Norwood in the East.  North Adelaide in the North.  Glenelg, West Beach in the West.  Somerton, Glenelg and Brighton in the South.

It would really depend on where you were working as to where you want to live.

You can get decent little cottages right in the heart of the city, where you could walk to anything you needed.  You won't get anything furnished though I wouldn't think.  If you really have money to burn, look for a new apartment in the city or the fringe. They are being built everywhere, you'll  get a fab view and maybe find one furnished.

  4. I am told the eastern suburbs are the most "upper class".  If you are looking for the beach life, there are some amazing places in Glenelg and near West Beach along the esplanade but really, really expensive.

Obviously, the Central Business Disctrict of Adelaide is also very expensive but more apartment based living for city types.

Don't know about northern suburbs though - Elizabeth and Salisbury don't have a great reputation and they are kinda north of the city.

Check out realestate.com.au or property.com.au and look in the rentals sections there for accommodation although it is almost impossible to find furnished accommodation.

I think there's furnished accommodation available at the following website although it might not be in the area you are looking for.
