  1. Hematite's main use is as an ore of iron, and more rarfely as a pigment. The variety specularite is used as jewelry, called Alaska Black Diamond.


  2. hematite used to make jewllery as it is fragile and easily scratched. unlike diamond which is hard due to it tetrahedron structure.

  3. usually hematite will be made into jewelery but its not very popular as it is prone to damage
