  1. Displacement. Vector quantities have a magnitude and direction. Scalar quantities only have a magnitude.


  2. A vector is a quantity of something, described by its magnitude and its direction.

    It is neither a distance, position, or displacement.

    Since a distance tells us how far, but does nto decribe where an object is going its not a vector.

    Position likewise tell where an object is, but not where it is going.

    Displacement tells us the magnitude of weight, but does not convey direction either.
