I believe Amazon has ebooks you can buy, mainly for their new kindle device.

http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page is also a very good page that has thousands of free legal books. From college text books to pretty much all of the classics.

www.mininova.org and www.thepiratebay.org have a vast library of ebooks though if you can't get it on gutenberg it is illegal to get it at one of these two sites.
