Which are worse for the environment charcoal grills or gas grills?

I was wondering if I should get a gas grill to replace my charcoal grill.

  1. it is not important.  do whichever you like (while you still have the freedom to choose).


  2. During the time you are cooking the Gas grill produces more Carbon Dioxide (not necessarily bad) but overall because you can't control the charcoal it produces more Carbon Dioxide in total than the gas grill will.

    I think that complying with the Kyoto protocol for carbon emissions would be disaster.  Those projected levels of Carbon Dioxide would be a disaster for crop and food production.

    Both fuels are clean burning and end up as Carbon Dioxide and water.

  3. If adjusted properly gas grills have very little impact on the environment. and will burn very clean.

    while charcoal grills, need to be light with an electric lighter for them to burn clean, and even then are not as clean burning as a gas grill.
