I would like to pay around 100-140 US dollars per night. A boutique style hotel with some charm would be nice. Which area would be recommended for me? Going with my sister-both in our twenties.

  1. THE LOUVRE, OF COURSE!

  2. Shopping: since you won't have a lot of time hunting boutiques, start with basics: Lafayette and Bon Marche. Then more on to Faubourg Saint-Honoré  and blvd  Sant Germain. Plenty of nice shops there.

Museums: Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Centre George Pompidou.

    Restaurnats: Pershing Hall, L'Etoile.

  3. I am going to assume you are two sisters traveling even tho Leslie is traditionally a man's name. (Brother and sister would obviously complicate the sleeeping arrangements).

I therefore assume that you are looking for a double for $100-140 per night. (that comes to between about 75-105 euros at current exchange rates).

The Hotel St. Andre des Artes at 66 rue St. Andre des Artes  is where I usually stay when I'm in Paris. Its more funky than "boutique"  but its a very friendly place. A double with breakfast is 86 euros a night. if you choose this place then you must email for a reservation (they are VERY popular) : hsaintand@wanadoo.fr

This is a perfect area. it is filled with restaurants and central to all the tourist sights.

The surrrounding streets are filled with little clothing shops, bookstores and art galleries (as befits an area awash with students from the Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts which is only a few blocks away).

The Cafe Conti, at the corner, is typical of the area. Here's a little video that will give you an idea of what its like: http://www.paris-zoom.com/place.asp?P=Le...

  4. Shoppin at the Champs-Elysees of coz! Then u can try to locate hotels within that area.A must go is the Louvre Museum, buy a 3day pass coz the museum is rather big to explore in 1day.Not to forget the Notra Dame & Eiffel tower. If ure big into shopping , try the link below, its a wonderful place to shop till u drop.Actually no matter where u stay, as long as its close to a "metro" , u wudnt have any probs travellin about Paris. Also dont forget to catch a night show at the Moulin Rouge.Have fun gals!
