In North America these names sound very foreign and not pleasant.

I love Augustus.  A friend's son's name is Augustus and he goes by Gus - it is super cute!

augustus is nice, but August is a really nice more modern version. I know someone who is named August and he is a very smart mature person. Augustus is a very strong name.

Augustus, Selim reminds me too much of Salem, which reminds me of burning witches.

August would be a better choice out of both of them. Augustus sounds a bit pretentious.

Selim it's catchy and Augustus is a really old fashioned name that your child wouldn't like.
