  1. that could be anything.

    What method of sterilization was used?  Not all bacteria die from heat. Not all bacteria are affected by the different sterilization chemicals.

    Stapholococcus (Staph) bacteria are extremely hard to kill.

    a colon infection called C. DIFF is very ahrd tio kill, too.


  2. Any bacteria that readily forms an endospore.


  3. It depends on the method of sterilization; an autoclave is going to do well with all of them.  But the answer above - bacteria that form spores - is correct for other methods, like heat or alcohol.

  4. none.  by definition sterilization is killing bacteria and other microorganisms.  

    but semantics aside... what kills one bacteria may not kill another.
