first of all, i love colehaan...nice find!

also, in my opinion brown bags look good with any outfit,

including all black! especially when they're a neutral tone

and bulky, like the one you've picked out.

i also think the black is a harder and more sophisticated look,

if that's what you're going for.

i always lean toward brown bags, though. love it!

for me the black bag is cuter. sometimes bags look different in different colors and the black bag looks sharper to me.The brown one is a little to granny for me but nice looking.
