I have a lot of foreign currencies at home. Since the US dollar exchange rates is getting lower and lower, so it is unsmart to exchange my foreign money into US dollars and then deposit it into saving account. So which bank in US accept foreign currencies deposit? or have a program of foreign currencies saving program? thanks

  1. I think Bank of Mexico does that! (Instead of Bank of America)

    :) haha

  2. I am not aware that US banks let you deposit funds into a US account without it being converted into US dollars.  Know what I mean?

I work for a bank and have for many years and have never heard of anyone doing such, you can always deposit it for the converted rate into your US account!

    Hope this helps!

  3. It is called a currency account. It is more common in business banking than personal banking. eg, I am in the UK, my main business operating account is stirling, but if I want I can open a US dollar account  or a Euro account that is based here in the UK, but savings are in which ever currency with my main bank.

They cost a bit of money to set up, you really need to have a lot of foreign money/transactions to make it worthwhile to set up.
