There is very little difference .. in a Capitalist Market prices tend towards the balance of supply & demand .. Banks that pay low will see good staff leaving for better jobs and will have to pay higher to attract replacements .. Banks that pay high will have lots of good applicants and will discover they can pay less .....

Wages can be 'distorted' by regional effects .. if the work force is not very mobile (or barriers exist to mobility) wages can be higher is some places (eg. south / London) and lower in others (midlands / north), although once again, the 'best' workers will be attracted to the 'high wage' areas ....

NB. Many Banks have 'contracted out' their 'customer service' departments to 'call centers' in low wage areas (the Midlands / North) or even abroad (eg. India) ...
