  1. The Nationwide's FlexAccount allows Standing Orders and Direct Debits and access to your cash. It can be run through the Branch, Post Office, Telephone or Internet. Balances of £1 or more earn interest of 0.10%, paid annually.

The Natwest has the almost identical Step Account, but the interest is paid monthly.

Better rates of interest are available from the Coventry Building Society's Branch- or CallSaveMoneyManager Accounts, paying 0.15% annually on £100 or more, or 3.15% annually on £1 respectively.
