    Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik became the first batsman to be given out lbw by the third umpire during the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka

    Malik, was struck on the pads by swing bowler Chaminda Vaas, was given out by on-field umpire Daryl Harper after he had referred the decision to Rudi Koertzen, the third umpire in the control room.
