  1. Ive never been to Ranger school, but I CAN tell you that a team of two regular ol' Marines beats the Rangers asses at their own Ranger Challenge almost every year.

  2. Basic Marine/Army Ranger

    Army Ranger!!!

    We used to joke that every Infantry Marine was a Ranger without the wings. I think the Rangers receive tougher training though. Couple guys I knew did the school and cameback with mad props for the Rangers.

    Basic Marine over any basic other service member but thats about it. Due to every Marine going to School of Infantry after Boot Camp

    Army Infantry=MC Infantry

    Ranger= Recon

    SF= Force Recon/MARSOC

  3. An Army Ranger because he is Special Forces.

    Honestly, you cannot compare the two by ANY means. An Army Ranger has been through army basic training, served, and been through Ranger school.

    A basic Marine has been through boot camp & SOI or his MOS school.

  4. Definitely US Army Ranger

  5. I have worked with a guy who was a West Point grad, and got out of the Army as a Captain and had a Ranger tab (kept it in his organizer).

    One day we all went offsite to lunch, one of our group was a Marine veteran. I was the Navy veteran of the group.

    The Ranger and the Marine seemed to have a lot of mutual respect for each other's experience and qualifications. I didn't hear a single word of who was tougher/badder/well-trained than who.

    Take from that what you will.

  6. Army Rangers have spent more time in training than the average basic Marine. Rangers first go through their Basic combat training at Ft. Benning, GA that is also included with their Advanced Individual Training (AIT) as well. Once they are givien the MOS 11B (or any of the other identifiers instead of B) they more than likely head to their first unit where they are given the opportunity to head to ranger school. First they have to go through what most know as "RIP" it is a pre-ranger course that is 1-2 weeks in length. Once done with that they then head off to the Ranger school which is different phases in itself. and lasting longer than their Basic or AIT.

    I dont know much about a Marines Basic combat training but i am sure its no where near in-depth of a rangers training.

    Hope this helps

  7. A ranger has been thru longer and tougher training........theres no argument to it....

  8. The Ranger, no question. BTW, he is NOT Special Forces, he is under USASOC (Special Operations - way different than SF) in one of 3 Battalions. A better comparison might be Ranger=Scout Sniper or Force Recon Marine.
