  1. Never lived in Perth, but I'm dying to get out of Melbourne.

There isn't much to do in this city, I don't club, drink, party that's why, but if that's your kinda thing, you'd love this city.

In terms of living expenses, I would say it would be expensive to stay in this city, otherwise you love walking, then it's different. I used to walk alot, until I realize that I waste too much of time just walking, I needed to take public transportation, costs about $4 for just 2 hour. It's kind of absurd. Restaurants are generally expensive and they don't have nice food. Unless you live in the suburbs, but traveling sucks, loads of people, delays which isn't often for trams but trains it does happen often. I feel very limited to what I can do, because things are overpriced and there isn't anything much you can do. Unless you stay home and study, then it's fine, maybe. But I love to go out. Other than beaches, it's mainly clubs, bars, things like that. Pretty dead after 5pm. I've thought of going to places even like Tasmania if they have a good school there for me. I love the city, don't get me wrong, I can't live without living in the city, but also, people are mostly drunk and crazy at night. It stinks, I hate the weather, can be freezing cold this morning, and oven hot in the afternoon, 4 seasons in a day is highly possible. Racism is everywhere so I wouldn't complain on that. Other than that, people tend to be nice, feels safe because they can be quite considerate.

Like I said, I'm not being a pain, but I'm dying to leave here.

I'm still wondering how did Melbourne get voted as the most livable city. Doesn't make alot of sense to me.

  2. Melbourne offcourse.

  3. Melbourne is a beautiful city. It is great for shopping, theatre, music, nightlife. I would highly recommend going there. Also at the moment it is one of the cheaper places to live, although studies show that won't be for much longer. I would look up websites on both cities and also the universities in each one and pick not only based on which city is the best one to live in but also which university offers the course i want and which one has the best reputation.

  4. Melbourne is the city. It has a lot more going on, way more international with heaps of international students around to offer support . Surf beaches, sporting events ,fantastic public transport, restaurants ,live music, bars and it is much closer to all the sites like Sydney, the great barrier reef, Queensland etc. You have a lot more choices in Melbourne and it caters to students ,backpackers etc. I love Melbourne

  5. Perth is very isolated, sandy flat, but sunny beaches and fun for the young to live. the universities are good, but not quite as good as some melbourne ones - eg monash.

melbourne is the colder weather for most of the year, though summer can be horribly hot and humid. (perth is dry heat).

melbourne is easier to get around as far as transport and there are many more places you could go for a day trip.

    melbourne shopping is better.

food is better by far in melbourne.

  6. Perth sucks and Melbourne blows

  7. I have never been to Perth, but i live in Melbourne and its a great place with so much to do and a lot more people than Perth.
