  1. cockateils are pretty clever birds

their cheaper than parrots and you can even teach them a few phrases or words and tunes :)

  2. Try getting a cockatiel! They're smart and they can be taught to whistle and say stuff. You might even be able to train one to do tricks!  :D

  3. I have an African Grey parrot named Simon. Hes amazing!!!! he speaks, responds, kisses us before he goes to bed :)

They are soooo smart, but very clingy!!! i would only recommend one for you if you will be home a lot with them. They love human attention.

  4. Get a cockatiel. They have a bigger "vocabulary" if you want it to learn to whistle songs.. Parakeets are lame

  5. I would only go for Grays & Macaws & Cockatoos.

  6. get a cocatiel make sure its a male they are awsome whistlers, mimicers, and pretty good talkers...theere nown to say a few good words.there near the budgie price kinda parakeets are about 25$ here in my town and cocatiels are 60$ and can also be 130$ at petsmart.i realy recomend a cocatiel there awsome birds!

  7. You should get a parrotlet! They are very small, fun birds. They can learn to talk, and are pretty quiet. They are also very pretty, since they come in different color mutations. Parrotlets are known to be stubborn, but if you properly train them, they are fun and a good family bird. Try and get one from a breeder. Petco and Petsmart may have healthy birds(not all the time), but sometimes, almost always, their birds are unsocialized and not very friendly.

I hope you get the bird you really want!=)

  8. Parakeets actually can have much larger vocabularies than cockatiels. Parakeets are one of the top rated talkers. They talk fast and have smaller voices than larger birds so you just have to listen to what they are saying. A parakeet actually holds the world record for the most words spoken by a bird.  If I were you though I would make sure you get an already hand tamed parakeet. Keet's are very hard to tame and sometimes fustrating for a novice bird person. Look for breeders in your area that have well socialized babies.

Usually birds at pet-chain stores are not well socialized, they do not have the time to handle the birds.

  9. Get a parrot
