  1. Depends on your definition of a "puppy cut".  There's no true pattern for such on a lhasa, so it is totally up to the individual.  Some think of a "puppy cut" as being about 2 inches of coat left all around.  Others think more like a half inch.  Regardless of what you leave, make sure the dog is clean and dry, and brushed out clear to the skin.  If you can't run a  comb through the fur easily, the results will be choppy and uneven.

  2. I used to clip my Shih Tzus with a 7 on the body, a 15 to clean around the tail & tummy, then scissored the legs to blend in. They were my models way back when I learned dog grooming. They had every style going. Terrier clips, summer clips you name it.

  3. it depends on how short you want the hair. a number 7 or 8 blade would work. remember, the higher the number, the shorter the hair. ie: if you use a number 30 blade, you will skin your dog, lol. i use a number 10 blade on my dogs body, a number 15 on the head and ears. i am still learning but it gets easier each time. i am going to buy a number 40 for the ears here shortly. if you use a number 30 or 40, an attachment blade would also work. it would leave the hair in a nice, even length. i don't remember the numbers on those, though. but i know they have them to attach and will leave the hair like an inch or more, depending on what you want. hope that helped.
