Which boat is better???

Question

me dad dosnt no if he should get the 22ft boat or the 24ft boat. which on do u think is better??

As has been previously stated...it's all about what you want to do with it.

Given the same power, the 24 will be a bit more sluggish, use a little more fuel and not be as nimbl as the 22, but it will have a little more room and a little better ride.

In either case, get the biggest engine that you can for the boat. I run an older SeaRay 19, which would be comparable to a current 21-22, with a 280hp Mercruiser...I wouldnt want to try heavier seas or a full boat load with any less power.

By the way..the Sea Ray in either size is an excellent choice. I've owned SeaRays since 1972 and have NEVER had any structural fit/finish problems.

If, there not a big difference in price then bigger may be better. I had a 19' closed bow with 165 HP. It was fine for me and big enough to be towing all I wanted. Though I did keep it in a Slip. It could seat six, but, we usually not ever have more than four people and a dog.

You only talking a 2' difference. If, there a big price and not much difference in HP, I would consider the 22' and use the extra money I save for the Fun stuff. Skis, Tubes, Wake Board, Life Vests etc.

If money is no object, the 24 foot boat. We had a 17.5 foot Searay and loved it. Wished it was longer.

I assume its for fresh water? If its the ocean, I wouldn't get a bowrider.

What do you intend to use it foe, will it be trailered?  The difference in size will be most noticed when tralering.

there is not much of a price difference between the 22' sundeck and the 24 sundeck... so, i would let my storage options sway me... most marinas charge by the foot for storage. if you are interested.. you can im me... i would be more than happy to help you or your dad with this...
