I have to read one of the two for English 1 class. Can you give me a little synopsis if you can and tell me what the book is like (boring or entertaining)

  1. I read "A Painted House" and it was great. It is not like most of Grisham's books. It is about a young child growing up in Arkansas (I think). It's been too long ago since I read it. But I really liked it and I don't like Grisham much. The book was a gift to me or I probably wouldn't have read it. But after I finished it I was glad I had read it.

  2. I liked a Painted House better of those two options.

It's not as thrilling as most of John Grisham's, but it is enthralling. It's told through the eyes of a young boy, in the Vietnam Era. Just my two cents.

  3. Actually, I don't think I've read either but I have read enough John Grisham books to know that he keeps them gripping. I think Cold Sassy Tree is about something depressing: a boy's suicide? I would go for A Painted House.

  4. A painted house, very good

  5. a painted house.. I just finished it for the 20th time! it's really a great book with characters that will stick with you a long time.  It made me wish he had done a sequel to it!
