Of course you know that "malt beverages" are what used to be disposed of before breweries found suckers to sell it too.

If you insist on alcohol, than there's no right answer. As far as anyone can tell, hangovers are primarily a result of the alcohol and only slightly affected by the other ingredients, with allergic reactions and sulfate sensitivity as exceptions. There's tons of conflicting personal observation about clear alcohols versus rum versus beer versus wine and the resultant hangovers, but none of these seem to agree as to what's "good" and what's "bad" while the very limited scientific research points to "it doesn't matter".

So if you get drunk, expect a hangover no matter what you drink.
