Does a urethane ball or a resin ball have more spin because me and my friend have been arguing over this so can someone tell us who is right and can you please send a link or something to prove which one has more spin?

  1. There's really not much debate about how much a bowling ball can or will hook.  It all depends on bowling style, speed of the ball after release, revolution rates, drilling patterns, pin placements and center of gravity in relation to the pin.

As an experienced bowler that has bowled in amateur as well as professional tournaments, I can make a plastic or polyester bowling ball hook as much as a reactive resin or particle bowling ball.  It has something to do with ball speed, lane condition, angle on the lane into the pocket and revolution rate.

On the same lane, I can fully cup my hand and with a slow speed, make my plastic Brunswick T-Zone hook aggressively from the outside in.  From an inside shot, I can hook my Hammer Black Widow Bite as much too.

I still have bowling balls from the 90's such as my Purple Rhino Pro, Black Rhino, Original Danger Zone, Danger Zone HPH, HPC, HPD and Raven Quantum, which are considered "dinosaurs" compared to today's advanced equipment, but can make them perform as well as a ball from the 21st century.
