  1. someone said paquiao, well not so fast  hands off is oscar de la yoya

Someone said Hatton, welll the 10 000 that flew from Ingland to las vegas is the entire fan base for ricky. but per captia oscar takes hatton easy.

think about it, the most loyal fans are mexicans when it comes to boxing. however we do not have the means to travel to England, h**l no way man, with 5.00 dlls salary, h**l no

  2. manny pacquiao

  3. de la hoya

  4. Without a doubt Ricky Hatton,Ive been to 3 of his fights and the atmosphere is amazing, like an international football match!!before the fight and after!,Ive also been to 2 of Joe Calzaghe's and there is mainly welsh people and the atmosphere is very subdued in comparison.I assume your talking about British fighters?

  5. oscar no dout

  6. pacquiao

  7. Hatton? Maybe, but all Joe fans are Hatton fans as well. It comes to the point where it doesn't matter if they win, you turn up because you are a fan.

I followed Shaun Murphy when he was fighting and it was amazing. I think Joe cal.....don't make me spell it has the same fanbase as Hatton, but slightly larger as ... well, no offence, but he has won more. But there is still time for Hatton to be back-I really hope so, anyway.

  8. yeah Hatton does have a good fan base, but nobody has a bigger one than Oscar De La Hoya. His numbers are so HUGE... And his fans are also pretty good when it comes to cheering him on. Another thing about his fan base... When he retires it WILL hurt boxing because at this point nobody seems to have the charisma to replace him.

plus they spend LOTS of mullah to watch him! Which is probably the best of fans in my opinion! but I do think it was awesome that Hatton had so many more fans than Mayweather here in the states! hilarious!!

  9. There are only two fighters who I have seen that have an extremely huge and loyal fan base, the first is definetely Ricky Hatton, in Manchester he is considered a hero and an idol to many, he fills up stadiums and arenas every single time he fights and his fan base is willing to spend thousands of dollars just to watch him fight (they flew over the atlantic for him) I have not seen that much loyalty and hero worship since the days of Felix Trinidad who is the other boxer i had in mind. In Puerto Rico Trinidad is considered an icon, parties would be thrown each time he won a fight and the whole island would be noisy just for him, he is the most popular puerto rican boxer (even more than wilfredo benitez) and his knock out victories thrilled puerto rican boxing fans for years, moreover a lot of them flew to the states to watch Trinidad fight (in the fight with de la hoya a lot of puerto ricans actually flew to watch the fight) and support him even when he loses, his fan base is definetely large and loyal.

  10. Hatton

  11. Ricky Hatton - hands down!  You can't beat a fighter who has the drawing power to influence 10,000+ fans to fly over 5,000 miles to watch him fight.  And every fight, his fans chant and sing the whole way thru, just like Europeans do at soccer matches.

For those of you who say Oscar De La Hoya, do you really think 10,000 would TRAVEL to England to root for him in person if he went there and fought Hatton?  Sure his fans would tune in on PPV, but I don't think they'd be lining up to buy tickets at the airport.  Advantage = Hatton.

  12. Ironically Ricky Hatton since he lost lost to Pretty Boy, but Mayweather also has a big fan base, especially in Mexico. Calzaghe also jokes halfway through fights aswell.
