Evander Holyfield had his ear bitten off. Mike Tyson was annoyed at the headbutts that Evander was doing and got away with. Therefore he felt since the referee is not stopping this head butting situation he will get revenge. Mike Tyson then proceeded to bite Evander Holyfield's ear off. The strange part was when they were in the ambulance to go to the hospital to fix his ear, the part of the ear that was bit off was gone . Some people say that it went on Ebay and was sold to the highest Bidder. This discussion was seen on tv. on the tonight show when Jay Leno interviewed Evander Holyfield about this incident.

In a second fight, Evander Holyfield had a piece of his ear biten off by Mike Tyson. Tyson's excuse for his action was that he thought Holyfield was headbutting him too much, which made him feel the need to retaliate in such manner. Personally, I aslo think Tyson was simply getting frustrated with the way the fight was going, outside of the headbutt(s).
