  1. I think 3 of the best fighters that effectively used their reach are:

Lenix Lewis - Not the most talented fighter in the world but effectively used his jab, size and REACH to his advantage in every fight.  He reigned as champ for a long time and only when he was tested with someone with the same style did falter.

Vatali Klitschko - An extremely effective REACH gave him the advantage in any fight.  Again not the most talented fighter but size, heart, and REACH gave him and advantage in his fights.

Wladimir Klitschko - His REACH combined with skills make him the current reigning world champion at heavyweight.  His fights aren't always the most entertaining, he gets the job done often by using his biggest advantage; size.  What he lacks in heart he makes up for in skill and size.

  2. I'll stick with recent fighters and go with Paul Williams. He's 6'1" and has an 82" reach!! Did I mention that he's a WELTERWEIGHT. That's just not right.

  3. IMO, Sonny Liston who had an incredible 84" reach, for a fighter only 6'1" tall. He utilized it with what is described as the best left jab in heavyweight history. It was said to be like getting hit with a telephone pole. Long and on the mark. Besides his two controversial fights with ALI, Liston was a fearsome fighter who dominated all during his time as a heavyweight contender and champion. Even in his last fight, when he was considered an old man, he inflicted a broken cheekbone, eye socket and approximately 75 stitches to Chuck Wepner, most all with the long jab.
