Which branch should I put down as second choice (RN)?

First choice: Mine Clearance Diver.

Second choice (if any): ?

I am looking for plenty of sea time and the chance to actually get wet rather than drive a desk, Several old salts have recommend Seaman spec, would you agree?

The only thing I have leard to put me off MCD is A) they get treated like **** by their superiors and B) they have a reputation for being pretty boys. Is this true? What reputation do MCDs have within the Andrew?

I would also highly recommend Sea Spec for what you want. In regards to how MCDs are treated, yes, they are seen as pretty boys in a similar way to pilots in the RAF, but it's all good. You'll find that you'll be treated much better than other enlisted personnel as an MCD and when the SHTF and the ships need to enter hostile waters, you'll be the most high respected and relied upon.
