  1. I wouldn't..... get a 44 magnum :)  now thats a gun

  2. I've got a Sig Sauer 9MM and a Sig-Mauser 40cal

I like them both but my wife prefers the 9MM ladysmith SW

  3. sig sauer. or maybe a glock.

  4. Glock.  Specifically, the Glock Model 19.

Take the gun safety course and get your CCW.

    H

  5. Good choice selecting the 9MM.......  Please pay no attention to all of the armchair gun "experts" suggesting you use a .45 or some other super power cartridge.......--------------

Ask a dozen people and your going to get a dozen answers....  I like the Sprinfield Armory XD pistols....

    http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php

These are reliably, High quality firearms that are priced quite fairly....

  6. Which brand of gun or which brand of ammo?

If your question is about guns, try as many as you can and buy what fits you best.

Any brand name ammo will work but you may find that your gun prefers one brand over another. This is not uncommon.

I have a Kahr 9mm that doesn't like CCI/Speer ammo but it never has a problem with anything else.

  7. Do you mean brand of firearm or brand of ammunition maker?

    Firearm:

    Springfield (esp. the XD)

    Glock

    Ruger

    Smith & Wesson

    Ammunition

    Remington

    Federal

    Winchester

    CCI

    Black Hills

All are great manufactuers.  Find the gun that fits your hand and need the best and practice, practice, practice.

  8. Glock all the way. i hardley ever clean mine(when it gets real scummed up) and i go shooting regularly, and it always shoots beautifly

  9. I really like my Glock 17. Just remember, whenever you pull the trigger, it's going to fire. There's no safety protecting you from yourself with a Glock.

  10. Your best choice for a caliber is the 357 Magnum by Smith & Wesson.* You can also shoot 38 caliber ammo in it.* You get two (2*) handguns for the price of one.* It is a no-nonsense man stopper.* Use 125 grain jacketed hollow points for self-defense ammo.*

  11. In order from least to most expensive:

    CZ-75

    Glock 17

    Beretta 92FS

    HK USP

    SigArms P226

Browning Highpower (blue steel/walnut grip/adj. sights)

    Kimber Custom II Target 9mm

There are others but these come to mind the most.  A good 9mm will start at over $400 and the Kimber is over $1,000.

  12. Sig Sauer P226

Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Michigan State Police to name a few, use and count their lives on the P226.

    Shouldn't you?

  13. First best and last. Browning Hi-Power.

  14. Taurus, Sig Sauer, Glock, Springfield Armory, Colt, Browning, FM, CZ, HK, Beretta, Tanfoglio, Luger, Walther, Lahti, Smith & Wesson, Para Ordnance.

  15. there are so many wonderful brands, it depends on what you like...  A large grip like Smith & Wesson or the heavier P-series sig sauer.  There is nostalgic like the Browing or the Colt or intensly accurate like the Ruger.  Rad are the likes of the Glocks runs.  BUT if you want the best of the best a "handgun" is a particularly nonlethal firearm. It consists of a human hand contorted to mimic the shape of a gun, bending the thumb to form the bullet chamber and extending the index and middle fingers to form the barrel. Noted for its accuracy and efficiency, it is estimated that 99.99% of the world's population have used the weapon at some point in their lives, and yet not a single fatal injury has been incurred through its use, making it the safest weapon in history.

  16. Glock or Ruger

  17. There is a lot of good reliable 9mms out there today Glock,H&K,Sig ,Beretta are the top choices. It all comes down to what you like and how much money you want to spend.

  18. I like the Beretta 92FS

  19. The Glock 19 (compact) or 26 (sub-compact) is a fine weapon for concealed carry, reliability is superb. Also there's not a bunch of safeties to fumble with in a high stress incident. This will give you some advantage.

However the 9mm caliber... although popular, is not a good choice for self- defense your best served by the .40 or .45

        If your asking about ammo.

    Federal  Hydra-Shok

    Speer  Gold Dot

    Hornady  T.A.P.

    Remington   Golder Saber

    Are all good choices.
