  1. My "favorite" brand is Zoo Med's Repti-Calcium.  There are two formulae.  One has D3 and the other doesn't.  If you have a reptile that requires a lot of UVB exposure such as Bearded Dragons or Uromastyx I recommend the D3 forumula.

I mix an equal amount of calcium and Rep-Cal brand Herptivite in a salt shaker and sprinkle on veggies and crickets for my bearded dragons and emperor scorpions.

Although I love most of Zoo Med's products, one is misleading:  Reptivite is found at most major petshop chains and is sold as a vitamin.  However, it contains mostly calcium so I don't recommend it as a vitamin.... but it can be mixed with a good vitamin as a calcium source in a pinch.

  2. Leopard Gecko

  3. I personally use T-rex Bone Aid. I prefer not to use a calcium supplement which contains vitamins. Calcium is a macro mineral, the geckos body requires quite a lot of it. With vitamins, the animals body only requires minute doses, so to prevent giving an excess of vitamins i prefer to use pure calcium and supplement vitamins separately, including vitamin D3 which, if given in excess, can be toxic.

  4. Any finely powdered calcium carbonate is about the same as any other calcium carbonate.

If you want stuff without D3 in it, try the powdered calcium carbonate supplement from a company called NOW from a health-food store. It usually costs about 1/2 of the pet shop stuff and is the same thing.

  5. I use

    tetrafauna

    ReptoCal

    for all my reptiles

    snakes lizards and turtles

  6. rep-cal

  7. I've been using RepCal for years.
