Which brand of digital camera is best/most reliable and which brand should I not buy?

Im buying my third digital camera, after my first one (Kodak) shattered, and my second one (Polaroid) stopped turning on. I go to many shows and concerts and I want a camera that will last a long time and in the $100-$150 price range. I know that it really depends on the type of camera, but which brand have you had good/bad experiences with? I dont want another Kodak or Polaroid after my bad experiences with them. Please tell me what you do/do not like about the brand(s). Thanks!

  1. I like Kodak.  I've had one for 3 years and it's wonderful (about $200).  I also like Canon.  If you want one that can drop on concrete and still work, I don't think you will find any in the $100-150 range. Mine has hit concrete and fallen off a bridge and still works, but I paid more for it.

  2. sony cybershots are good and sometimes cheap (129.99 at circuit city), but they use a memory stick.

canon and nikon are also very good. many of their cameras use the sd cards so that will save some money, even though they're a little more than some others

  3. 1st thing is dont try to buy a camera n that price range,

ur budget should start from $200,

or u can buy some old models. but still those r best,

such as Canon A450 / A 350 ( 4 MP, 3x Optical, i dono abt canon's card slots. ) these cameras will cost around $120 - $170, and DO NOT BUY ANY USED CAMERAS.

But SD cards r slow, u cant take any Panorama or multi frame shots, Memory Stick Pro Due are better, but those r expensive, ( 1 GB is $40)

i use Sony w110, its very user friendly,  its cost around $ 240 with 1GB M.Stick Pro.

k, and better to ask this question n this site,

    see Canon A 470 is $99.

    :)

    have fun bro.

  4. Hi,

I really like my PINK Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80. I highly recommend it to you for many reasons. This is a great camera for its price. This might be the best choice for its class because it provides IS (image stabilization for shaky hands and moving objects: anti blur), 2.5 inch LCD, 7.2 megapixels and 3x optical zoom.

Moreover, this is very handy, tiny and light camera that you can carry in your pocket without feeling it.

Menus and settings are very easy and clear. Some tips appear on the screen when you are using different modes, it is very helpful.

The picture is PERFECT! I took some really amazing shots with this camera - they were awesome! I highly recommend if you are looking for a small, amazing camera that you purchase this one.

    Good luck!

Go to the vendors that you'll find here and you can find more colors there:

  5. I like the Canon powershot A series. I have the A-590 and love it. The A series uses AA batteries so spend like $20 and get 4 batteries and a charger, and when you go photographing take the extra 2 batteries with you. This camera has an LCD screen and a view finder,so if your LCD screen breaks you still have a working camera.

It takes a pretty good picture! Not as good as my other camera but at $900 less I wouldn't think it would.

The only thing that I can fault with the camera is that when using the flash there is about a 4 second delay between pictures. And the camera is a little clunky looking. If you buy this camera or any new camera spend the 6 bucks for a case.

Most digital camera's meet there demise when they are dropped or mis-handled.Otherwise they are pretty durable.

I fell that any camera from Canon,Nikon,Sony or Fuji. will serve you well. Look for one that takes AA batteries and has a viewfinder and a LCD screen.

  6. CANON IS AMAZING! you wont find a decent camera in that price range. maybe a little higher like 179.99 or it would have to be a really good sale. nikon is also good. and they take sd DO NOT get a kodak, polaroid, or hp camera. Samsung is okay and those are more like 99-150. Sony and olympus are a diff memory card. fuji and casio are ok but not worth their prices.

o and if your worried about it breakin get a protection plan! accidental is best because in 2 years u can bust it on purpose and get updated technology for free!
