Question:

Which browser has the least problems?

I am trying to find a browser which doesn't create problems such as the ones I am going to list below. In the past year, I have used Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Mozilla. All of these browsers have problems.

Internet Explorer crashes several times a day.

Firefox creates a significant memory leak; you can see it with CTRL+ALT+DEL; the leak slows down all my other apps and eventually crashes. I would still use it, because it doesn't crash every day, but it just slows everything down so much.

Safari crashes too often and doesn't let me upload pictures to my flickr account. It also takes too long to scroll through the bookmarks and when you try to download a video, you have to click on it and save it twice, so you're performing 4 separate actions to download one file. (I mean when right-clicking on a .wmv or .mpg).

Mozilla, I haven't used it enough to see what it's major issues are. But from what I remember, I wasn't that impressed with it, at least compared to Firefox.

So which is the best browser? Or are they all full of bugs?

  1. I'm a web developer and my personal favorite FOR BROWSING is Opera. It's extremely fast and has a lot of useful and handy features. If you use your browser just for web-surfing - it's way better than any other.

The second one - Firefox. You're right - they had that notorious memory leak, but now it seems like they fixed it. But even now you can see the speed difference between Opera and Firefox while surfing. Especially in large Web 2.0 projects(Flickr for example) with a lot of JavaScript. Opera's JS rendering and caching is the world's fastest nowadays.

About Chrome - don't expect perfect work from a just released product. In a few years it will be really good, but now it has a lot of bugs for sure.

And the slowest and buggiest of all - Explorer :)

  2. 1st off Mozilla is Firefox. And IMHO is better than Internet Explorer and Safari, etc.  Firefox has many great addons that let you customize your browser to suit your style. But,

If you want to try something different. Google just released Chrome. Maybe you should try that since it's new.
