Which budget hotel to stay in munich, germany? any recommendations?

I don't know exactly what you consider budget, but last summer (high season) we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Koenig Ludwig in Schwabing (a little north of city center, very nice part of town). The cost was 125 Euro per night for a double bed. We could've gone cheaper, but we had 3 people and many hotels had a room limit of 2. Its generally better to deal with any hotel direct than to go through the websites when booking. You can check out some of the European travel websites I pasted in the sources section (good for searching).

Stay outside of town for cheaper prices. Check www.hrs.de which gives you searching by price and distance to center of town. You can easily take a commuter train into town from one of the suburbs. Try Erding for a cute little town outside of Munich. 30-40 minute commute into town.
