Not knowing exactly what you are asking, I personally would first prepare to pay my living expenses such as rent (or mortgage), gas and electricity, phone, cable, food bills, insurance and credit cards.  Then if there is money left, I can spend this on clothes, dining out, gifts, etc.  If I plan right,  I can balance my budget so I'm not overwhelmed during a specific month and I can cover most of my expenses.
