  1. Whole Foods

    Trader Joes

companies that are developing the new technologies for clean energy

Businesses are learning that is is an economic bonus to go green. Walmart stores are being equipped with solar panels that will provide 30% of their energy needs.  They've changed their lighting to save energy.

Silicon Valley companies are going green

Google wants to invest a billon dollars in clean energy development.

I am not persueded by, say an oil company's TV ads telling me how green they are.

  2. My unlikely nominee is McDonald's. They stopped using styrofoam for their boxes and cups. They don't give you water unless you ask for it. The tiny packets for salt and pepper and catsup create less waste. Styrofoam never degrades back into the earth. I think it's almost evil to use styrofoam plates and cups. Am I persuaded? Well, I'm persuaded that coffee and hot cocoa tastes better in paper than in plastic.

  3. i go with seminar leader...styrofoam (commercial name for EPS-expanded polystyrene) is made from benzene plastic which is a known carcinogen. I wonder why the government approves the use of such product. Can we sue those companies that use this?
