  1. while 1/6 inch ccd has more pixel count, i have not seen any used on cameras that have good quality lenses.  The lens is every bit as important to getting sharp full resolution pictures.

At SD, the pixels count recorded on miniDV is 480x720 (345,600), or 480x640 (307,200) if you are HDD or miniDVD format. So for SD work, the camera with 440,000 pixels will have to blur them to fit the recording scheme anyway.

So pixels isn't everything, but 270,000 does seem a little weak, unless its on an analog camcorder (ie VHS or video8).

  2. 1/6 with 440000 has less surface, more pixels, more resolution, less bright, and more noisy. the 1/3 has less resolution, more surface, more bright and less noise. the choice is yours. I think the 1/6 with more resolution is better if u dont want to film at night.

  3. The ZR800 Camcorders are great. it has a 1/6" CCD with 680,000 Pixels. Standard 525 TV Lines NTSC Resolution.

  4. in my opinion it would be a great idea to buy CANON Hg10
