Question

Which camcorder is better?

i need a camcorder that i can easily transfer the video into a dvd and also has a good picture quality..

these both have the same price of $200..

honestly it depends what you want it for, they're kind of two completely different camcorders.

if you think you will be filming stuff from far away (graduations, recitals, plays) the jvc would definitely be better cause it has 34x zoom and the sony only has 4x.  also, this jvc will be a better multifunctional camcorder for recording anything.  

if one of the main things you are looking for is compactness, i would go with the sony.  but otherwise the jvc one looks more practical.

the jvc is far more versatile than the sony. mini dv will give you better resolution and storage. the jvc also shoots widescreen which is a huge bonus for the price point.

the sony isn't even worth considering in this instance.
