  1. I would personally go for a Canon myself.

I find that Nikon's red and green colour tend to be a bit stronger then other colours, where as Canon photos come out a bit more natural.

Depands on what you wanna take pic on I guess. If its mainly person, then the Canon will be better.

Also, Canon has a wider range of lens compare to Nikon. So, it will be easier to find a lens that you need and fits your price range

  2. nikon D60

  3. Nikon is probably better for a starter...

If your a COMPLETE novice, get a D40. It will teach you everything you need to know. But as your doing a photography course, the D60 will probably be best!

  4. Hi,

I searched for some reviews on the cameras which you can compare with each other. I also post you a link to where you can get the cameras at the cheapest price.

    Canon EOS 450 D

    Nikon D60

I read that the Canon camera is the better one. But make up your own mind.

    Hope it helps!

  5. I have a Canon 400D which is good, very cheap now too!  Both Canon and Nikon are good, I think the 450 will have the edge over the D60.  Tamron lenses are good lenses, I had the 18-250mm zoom until it was stolen!  I have a Sigma now, but I think the Tamron was a bit better.

Try looking at     www.dpreview.com/reviews       They're all reviewed on there.

  6. The canon is better.  Nikon is good but you are limited on the lenses for that camera.

  7. Go to a store and try them both in your hand. Find out which one feels better in your hand and is easier to change settings with.

That being said, the D60 doesn't have an in-built AF motor to allow autofocus with older Nikon lenses. However, there are many good lenses by makers including Tamron, Sigma, and Nikon that work fine and autofocus on the D60. The 450D, on the other hand, should be able to autofocus with all EF/EF-S mount lenses. So look at the lens choices and decide which system suits your needs.

  8. Personally I choose Canon and EOS 450D is a good choice for the beginner.
