If you are looking for a professional camcorder, go to B&H photo and video, and you will not be disappointed. There are many consumer HD camcorders for $700-900, but the professional camcorders are much better in terms of audio capabilities, manual control, and picture color. My favorite HD pro camcorder is the Panasonic HVX200, but it is very expensive ($5,000+). They cheapest pro HD camcorder is probably the Canon XH-A1. It is an excellent camcorder- but still a little pricy at $3,300 on BHphotovideo.com. I believe it is worth the investment!
