I like the Nikon because it's a lot less bulky, but I'm not sure why it's more expensive when the Canon has the 10x zoom. Any opinions? What would you get and why?

  1. Hello --

The two cameras are very similar.  After looking at the features though the Nikon is the better of the two.

    Resolution -- Nikon is better

ISO -- Nikon has the greater range

Aperture -- Nikon has the greater range

    Hot shoe -- Nikon only

The Nikon is a more professional (high-Level) system, the Canon is less expensive and more mid-level.

The 10X zoom is better on the Canon.

If I were making the purchase I would probably get the Canon because I like the 10X zoom, and the price is very good for what it is.

    Hope this helps,

    W. H.

  2. I would take the Nikon, it has better resolution and more features. I have never needed a big zoom and seldom use one. That feature means little to me, especially when a 3X zoom covers about 95% of shooting situations.
