  1. Well I can see why she would be willing to take the pay cut. Here is an example of why Alaskans are gung-ho to drill in their state for oil. McCain is against drilling in ANWR but his choice for VP is very much for it. For her family of six (the new baby is not eligible at less than a year of living in Alaska) they would receive $1,654 (last year's dividend per person but expected to be higher this year) plus the $1,200 each extra they will receive this year adds up to at least $17,124. The oil & natural gas in that state that is on Federal lands belongs to all American citizens but only Alaskan residents qualify for payments on the receipts of it's sale. Make sure you read both articles that I just sent you on this. The companies that get the leases to extract the oil & natural gas are under no obligation to sell it strictly to America. They can sell it to whomever they choose (ie:China). It's kind of like the two companies here that Lake & Sumter County FL have brought in to bottle water out of the Florida Aquifer to sell on the open market. Floridians are being told (forced) to conserve water yet we  are giving huge tax incentives to bring in two outside companies to take water out that we don't have for the people that paid those tax incentives so the companies can sell the water back to us (I get it out of my well for FREE provided it doesn't run dry) or they can bottle it and ship it to Wisconsin if they please or even Africa if they feel like it. Only we don't get dividend checks from these companies taking OUR water out of OUR Aquifer. We only get to pay the tax incentives to the companies and cut back on our use of the water we used to get for free. Now we are told that the companies are going to give about 100 of us good paying jobs ($8 an hour?) and hopefully all their employees will be legal American workers but personally I would rather have water in my well. Let's ask that ALL Americans share in the oil dividend profits and see how fast Alaskans no longer want us in the lower 48, as we are referred to up there, drilling in "their backyards"! State resources should belong to the residents of that state, but Federal resources should belong to all of us.

  2. Palin did but...so what, she still racked up $20 million in debt for her small town of less than 5,000 people.

Mayoral performance - Palin, who portrays herself as a fiscal conservative, racked up nearly $20 million in long-term debt as mayor of the tiny town of Wasilla — that amounts to $3,000 per resident.

  3. Couldn't say i know herbert hoover didn't want to accept a pension.

  4. It certainly wasn't Biden or anyone else in the Senate, they will go on vacation when they should be voting on a comprehensive Energy Bill, but they will stay into the wee hours of the morning to vote themselves a raise with our, our, our, tax dollars.

  5. hahahaha well it wasnt obama.

  6. Biden.  Yeah, right.

    It was Palin.

  7. I do not know if Gov. Palin would choose to, but if McCain/Palin wins, she may have to.

John McCain does not believe in equal pay for women, and The VP follows The Presidents lead in policy.
