Hi, I'm looking to buy my first car and my budget is going to around 4,000-6,000 dollars.

I'm looking for a reliable car with good gas mileage that will last me many years to come. The car I get will preferably be no younger than 2000 and preferably have gas mileage less than 100,000. I've looked at the pricings of many cars and know that my expectations are pretty big, but definitely realistic. (oh and automatic not stick)

I'm interested in Toyota Corollas, Honda Civics, Nissan Altimas, and some old Volvos. Which of these cars is most realistic and reliable based on what I'm looking for? Are there any other suggestions you can make for me? Are there any specific models of the cars I want you could suggest?

I'm open for any advice you can give me! Thanks.

  1. I would always recommend Toyota. You can check out the Toyota models online or call western Toyota.

  2. Don'tt know why, dont like corolas too much, i guess they are too small, Civics are great, new altimas are nice but dont like old ones, as for volvo they are very reliable but parts and labor are expensive.

In my opinion you should get Civic or maybe like a 98-00 accord

  3. I would suggest looking into a 2000 Nissan Sentra or a Toyota Echo.  Depending on your area, a used Sentra goes for around $5,985 and an Echo goes for about $5,860.  Check out http://www.kbb.com/kbb/PerfectCarFinder/...
