  1. they both suck

    made in china/south korea

have fun paying for the chinese pensions and killing the US economy

    Buy a domestic

  2. Well, the between the hyndai and the Highlander, i'd have to say the highlander. The highlander feels more solid, and looks more sophisticated. It has the toyota reliablity to its name, and it keeps its value pretty well, not to mention that it comes in a hybrid, which is a big gas saver.

The Hyundai is a good choice if your looking for more on a budget, but they haven't exactly had the biggest reputation for reliability.

And as for the corolla, i think if its just you, and maybe one or two more people, this is the car to get. It's cheaper, smaller, better on gas, cheaper to insure, cheaper to maintain, and keeps value really well, its an all in one package with gas prices as high sa they are today, you really don't need an SUV

  3. What others think does not matter. You need to pick the car that you like. Don't worry what others think. Drive these cars and feel how they drive. After you drive them you'll know which one is the best for you. You must also consider cost, gas mileage, and warranty. How much can you easily afford?

  4. I'm not sure why you threw the Corolla into the mix with 2 SUVs.  If you don't need an SUV, then by all means go with the Corolla.  It will save you a fortune on gas as we go from $4 to $5, $8, $10, who knows how high.  If you need a little more room, consider the Corolla Matrix or Pontiac Vibe (essentially the same vehicle, built on the Corolla platform).  These are nice, fuel efficient alternatives to larger SUVs.

  5. you comparing a small SUV & a large SUV to a small car.

they are all reliable good vehicles.

the Toyotas will cost more than the Hyundai and have a higher resale value.

The highlander is one of the best mpg SUVs on the road but it's still only 18 mpg. The Santa Fe is smaller but gets the same 18 mpg avg. The corolla avgs 29 and gets 37 Hwy.

you could almost buy 2 corollas for the price of a fully loaded Highlander.

if you don't need to carry more than 4 people or a lot of stuff

you'll save money on gasoline buying the car.

If you need more room the Hyundai and the Highlander are available with third row seats although they are better suited for kids not adults.

if you have plenty of money the hybrid Highlander is very highly rated.

if your on a budget the Hyundai will cost thousands of dollars less yet still be reliable.

I would also recommend that you drive the Kia Rondo.
