I have to get the perfect gift for a special person (see a previous question I posted). I heard the Corvair is a very unsafe car, and often explodes into a fireball without warning. This sounds like the ideal car.

I haven’t had much luck finding one yet. What other cars have been known to just blow up??

  1. 63 pinto was the worst for being rear-ended...

  2. d**n r u buying a car for someone special lol

  3. Pinto's blow up when rear ended.

  4. I remember the Corvair when I was a kid.  That was really bad!  There was also a Ford Pinto (I think) that exploded when re-ended.

  5. Any car with a bomb set off to explode in it.

That said, your evil plan won't work anyway. Cars, even the Corvair, don't just blow up. And if you did something to make it happen, you'd find yourself in prison for a lifetime. Time to grow up and find a more mature avenue for your frustrations.

  6. When you think of dangerous cars, you may think of Ralph Nader’s decades old warnings that Corvairs were “unsafe at any speed”, because he claimed, they tended to flip over. Or you may remember the infamy of Ford Pintos which had their gas tanks in the rear.

When Pinto’s were hit from behind in a rear-end collision, they had a tendency to explode. But according to people who should know, neither of these qualifies as the most dangerous car on the road.

But the four most dangerous cars are.....................

Corvettes: 4.7 deaths per ten thousand

Mustangs: 4.3 deaths per ten thousand

Camaros: 4.3 deaths per ten thousand

Firebirds: 3.2 deaths per ten thousand

  7. The Pinto of course.

The Edsel was a lemon, but I am not sure if it was unsafe.

  8. Find a Pinto and then make sure the brake lights don't work. Problem solved.
