i just got a 2009 nissan versa and yesterday it only cost me 40 bucks to fill all the way up! =)

A good one coming out in 2009 is the VW Jetta TDI. Its expected to get just under the Prius MPG wise, without the energy consuming battery.

If your not looking for anything like a diesel or a hybrid, try getting something small and compact like the Honda Fit, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or the Nissan Sentra. They all get exceptionally well on MPG, and can be found for a pretty reasonable price.

Basically what i'm trying to say is that you will lose more money if you buy a gas efficient car than if you keep your old car. keep your old car. Which is around $4200 a year
