Which car manufacturers did there best seriously to save fuels money?

most of them are making new cars running on 95 octan .. in the middel of world wide fuel shortage ... what is the point ????

  1. all common car makers are making hybrids now, but unless you are planning to own one for a long time (Since they cost more), you might as well but a small, fuel efficient 4 cyl.

    Higher performance cars still need 95 octane gas to run well and produce the most horsepower possible, and chances are even if you buy one of these (Mercedes for example) you can use 87 octane, it just won't run as well.

    But to answer your question...

    I know GM made the first electric and hydrogen car concept followed by Honda. But since Asian cars have been know to be good on gas for a long time, American cars are now catching up to Honda and Toyota.
