  1. Prelude cant drift due to fwd. Either 180 or mr2 would work since they are both rwd, but 180 sx would be my preference. Instead of the sr20det though I would swap a rb26det (nissan skyline motor). The reality is though if you are on a limited budget skip engine mods and put everything in the suspension. Ive seen great drifters in an AE86 (corolla) modified only to about 120hp. ITs all about suspension and technique. Yes with more power you can pick up more velocity and sustain a longer drift, but if you are a beginner that extra power might get you hurt! If you are experienced go with the rb26 otherwise go for the sr20det at most. You can run 350 whp without major mods. Dont be fooled either, 350 to the wheels is rediculously fast! Rb26 You can jump up to about 500 whp with out major mods! But dont forget power is far inferior to technique and suspension!

  2. hhhmm... for drag and drift... i would say viper for driftingg... umm but out of the list... either the toyota or honda

  3. If it is an option i would say Nissan 240sx. And since a Prelude is fwd then it would be impossible to drift in. Out of those I would choose the 180sx.

As far as mods go, I would swap the engine to at least a SR20DET (a 2.0L turbocharged 4cyl) or a VQ35DE (nissan V6, ward's 10 best engines list 14 years straight) if possible.

    Mods:

    Turbo

    Intercooler

    Air/Fuel Mapping

    Turbo-back exhaust

    Heads and cams

    Low compression pistons
