  1. logic says the golf but i bet you'll tell us NCAP says the corsa is safer.

I went head-on with a Citroen BX with my SAAB a few years a go. (combined speed only about 60 MPH I would say ) From that point on I vowed NEVER to buy a small car. The BX ended up smaller than an AX - a complete mess, my SAAB wasn't drivable but at least you could see it used to be a car.

  2. none of them ! .................i drive a volvo and i feel safe,can corsa,s do 40 mph ?

  3. since your spinal cord would snap at the base of your skull, it won't make any difference to you., unless you were hitting a bicycle or a Kenworth.

  4. ford mondao car of the year on top gear for safety

  5. hhmmm....... not sure.

  6. cant i just watch you?

  7. i'd rather die looking good in the golf!!!!

  8. Give me a Volkswagen any time, I have owned various Volkswagen's over the past 30 years and they are extremely well built. Cheers, Gizz.

  9. Really the answer for me is none. I would want to avoid the crash because; most cars are government and safety checked at 40 mph. Two cars heading at each other at 40 is equivalent to 80 mph and there is no government standard or reported test that says someone will be alive in either car! Fact is, where will you be? You may be in one of these; in the trunk or out on the street past the trunk or sewn into the fabric of twisted metal and upholstery.

  10. The Corsa - because it definitely wouldn't be mine and therefore I wouldn't have to worry about losing my no-claims bonus ;-)

  11. is this a math question?

  12. The impact would be 80mph, so my guess would be not much difference what car you were in as they are both small car..death or seriuos injury would be iminant.

  13. Corsa in view of the quite recent improvements in safety requirements.,

  14. Would far rather be in an S-class Merc to be honest, but out of those two, the Corsa's a much newer design and despite being slightly smaller, probably has better crash protection than the much older Golf.

  15. I've got a vauxhall corsa 07 and i love it to bits, lol, but would rather be sitting in a Volvo in a head on/side/rear crash because statistics say that it is the safest car on the road. incidentally yellow cars have the most serious crashes. mines silver. x*x

  16. wow what a question.

  17. Neither since the point of collision would be 80 mph.

  18. probably the golf, they seem safer, although i can't think i'd really enjoy being in either.

  19. I'd rather not be sitting in any of them during a Head on coalition!!!  but that's just me...lol

  20. Whatever you are still going to get a Sore Head,,,

  21. The 1997 Golf anyday!!Im afraid to say you cant beat German engineering,German cars have loads of in built safety features even the older ones.Im not proud to say ive had quite a lot of accidents but when i crashed my audi i walked away without a scratch-German cars are usually better built.

  22. as a banger racers wife neither of them is a good strong car, A good strong volvo

  23. they are pretty much the same, no?
