Which care would be the best to get, a Smart Car, or a Mini Cooper?

Looking at the specs of the ones I was interested in, the regular Mini Cooper with lowest price around $19,000, with about 32/37 mpg, or the Smart Passion around $14,000 with about 33/41 mpg. Of course I'd add options to both and the prices aren't perfect, but close. With options, it might set the Mini up higher pricewise.

The Mini should be more reliable than a Smart car, but both of them won't last for a very long time. The Mini is good on fuel though, and it performs very well.

I recommend the Honda Civic Hybrid, if you are interested in reducing pollution.  Otherwise, if your heart is set on either the Smart Car or the Mini, I'd go with the Smart Car.   Good luck with your automobile purchase.

Mini Cooper is a real car.

the smart is not a good Hwy vehicle, if you just do short trips it's ok but other than that it's not practical.

for one, recheck those mpgs on fueleconomy.gov. Those aren't right for the mini.

Get the mini before smart car. The mini is a clown car, but at least a car. The smart car is basically a 2 stroke road buggy, or a brand new ford ka/fiesta.

Neither did well for ratings. The Smartcar has no room and poor suspension so if you are set on one of the 2 I would go with the cooper. You might want to check consumer reports first.

If you enjoy driving get the mini

If you enjoy having strangers think your an intilectual forward enviromentally concious person get the smart car.

and as some people have said you will waiting for the smart car for a long time.

Yes, the mini is made by BMW but Smart is made by Mercedes.

The smart car is actually pretty roomy on the inside. Its sporty, fun to drive, has good handling, but i have to admit, the waiting list is a bit rediculous.

Personally, i'd go for the mini, just because of the waiting list on the Smart. Its also roomier, and gets just a little bit under the Smart MPG wise.

Mini is BMW, Smart is Mercedes.  The MINI is a much better drivers car any way you look at it.  Smart cars are impossible to locate.  MINIs are everywhere.

Mini Cooper is owned by bmw and i think its a bit safer in case of a crash
