Which caribbean: Punta Cana vs Puerto Rico?

Last year, I went to Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Reef Hotel in Cancun with my fiance and loved it! This year, we are considering Punta Cana, Dominican Republic or San Juan, PR. Where should we go?

  1. Well..... Punta Cana, Dom. Republic is bigger than P.Rico so If you like the beach and nice resorts the place that's the place to be, it is more tourist like, the only problem with it is that there's not much to do outside the resort, since it is away from the towns, but if you're looking for fun you can always go to La Romana which is not that far away from Punta Cana and enjoy a good, fun night dancing till the morning. Have Fun! =)


  2. San Juan is a city with loads to do, if you mainly want to relax on a great beach, do a few excursions and mix with friendly locals go to Punta Cana

  4. They are both great places, it really just depends what you are looking for.

    Punta Cana is a like a resort town or tourist town. There are lots of beautiful resorts & a gorgeous beach. There is some nightlife & golfcourses. Punta Cana otherwise doesnt have many sights to see. So if you really just want to relax on a beautiful beach then Punta Cana is a good choice.

    San Juan is a fairly large city with lots of history & culture, along with everything modern. Old San Juan has some great sights to see like el Morro Fort & the old spanish colonial streets of Viejo San Juan. There are lots of restaurants, shopping, casinos & nightlife in San Juan also. Plus San Juan has some pretty nice beaces like Isla Verde beach. However they aren't the best in PR. So you can go to Culebra & Vieques islands which are just a ferry ride away from San Juan. They are practically secluded beaches with powder white sand. Also PR has el Yunque rain forest, Camuy caves, Arecibo telescope & more which are al a short drive away. If you like to see more sights & adventure then I would pick Puerto Rico. Whatever you choose, you will like them both. Enjoy :)
