i think it depends on the car stereo.. some stereo is "ipod ready" nowadays and some don't. if you have an ipod ready car stereo, then you can attach your ipod easily...

also you can buy an ipod car kit where you can attach your ipod to your stereo if your stereo don't have ipod ready on it
