  1. the hybrid car will definitely help out! it also saves you lots of money on gas. so hybrids are the way to go!

  2. hybrids but they still us gasoline

  3. That depends on where you live, if you live in NYC or DC where you have access to a hydrogen filling station, then what would really help the environment is a hydrogen powered car. If you don't have access to hydrogen then choose the car with the best gas mileage (which would probably be the hybrid)

  4. Everyone is saying the hybrid, but they still pollute. I have read about compressed air vehicles that don't emit any pollutants.

A compressor could be run from an electrical current that could be produced from a rolling axle for example. Then the compressor compresses air into tanks that would run a motor on nothing more than CO2.

  5. Trust me ..Toyota Prius is the best car ...i myself drive a prius.. n i m very happy to be in such a good deal...!!! i used to drive  a Mitsubishi sypder eclipse then i traded it for prius.. n i was very astonished  with the fuel efficiency of  my car.. i used to spend on 13-14 gallons per week on spyder but i now i only go for 3-4 gallons per week.I saved so much on my prius...n it also improves our driving .. we come to know how much energy we loose by careless driving..!!!

i think u shud go for Prius if u drive in city area alot.. its not a highway car though...

  6. The Japanese ones are by far the better ones.  You'll be disappointed in the American models.

  7. There are a few options:

    1) There are electric cars (ZENN). While they lack in performance they are to my knowledge one of the most efficient cars. That being said coal emissions to produce power is said to be less harmful I still am not certain the gain is as great as they claim it to be.

2)Hybrids (Toyota Prius) While they do have great millage per gallon, they still do burn gas, on top of that they tend to be pricey and economical gain does not make too much sense unless gas goes up dramatically within the next 3 years (which it might)

3)Diesel, While there are some stations that provide bio fuel which reduces the emissions considerably (to my knowledge up to a third of c02 emission) and it is far less harmful way of producing fuel (tonnes of fresh water is used to drill and refine oil), You also have the option of creating your own bio fuel, which is becoming more cost effective.

For the most practical option for a young person, I would most likely go for a diesel, it is quiet efficient and cost effective option, if you are a doer you can experiment on making your own fuel and perhaps even recycling the oil that you use for cooking (if you deep fry a lot of stuff).

The cost of buying one of these cars are slightly higher that other cars but it is still within the ranges of most consumers.

    Hope this helps.

  8. If only everyone were as considerate of the earth as you!

Give yourself a pat on the back honey! =)

  9. Look at the cost of fuel ,some of the hybrids are just not all that good. The hybrid will cost more ,how long will it take U to recover the extra cost. If u want go and plant a tree.

  10. Hybrids are currently the most environmentally friendly option when it comes to cars.  The Toyota Prius was named the greenest car on the planet by a recent Swiss study.

  11. Honestly there is only one. The one you don't drive......

  12. the toyota prius is the best i know of.

  13. Welcome to the great quandary of Youth Driving... to choose between Fun, Utility, or Responsibility.  You seem stuck between Fun and Responsibility.  Time to compromise.

While I've never seen an "Fun" hybrid (aside from the Lexus GS 400h, but that's hardly an eco-friendly car), you can get a fuel efficient eclipse.  Just go for a base model 4cyl with a manual transmission.   You'll get decent mileage and still feel sporty...not to mention save a couple bucks on the price.

Is this your first car?  Are you still learning to drive?  I'd stick with conventional cars for first time drivers...some of the little idiosyncrasies of the hybrids could be a little odd to a newbie behind the wheel.

  14. Why not consider the "World's Cleanest Car" that runs on compressed air and will be coming out later this year.

"BBC News is reporting that a French company has developed a pollution-free car which runs on compressed air. India's Tata Motors has the car under production and it may be on sale in Europe and India by the end of the year.

The air car, also known as the Mini-CAT or City Cat, can be refueled in minutes from an air compressor at specially equipped gas stations and can go 200 km on a 1.5 euro fill-up -- roughly 125 miles for $3. The top speed will be almost 70 mph and the cost of the vehicle as low as $7000.

The car features a fibreglass body and a revolutionary electrical system and is completely computer-controlled. It is powered by the expansion of compressed air, using no combustion at all, and the exhaust is entirely clean and cool enough for use in the internal air conditioning system. "

  15. the hummer is a better choice than the prius. the batteries alone to run the prius KILL  KILL  KILL the envirement. look it up hun, you bought into the hype.

maybe someday they ll be able to recycle these things and wont be so bad to make these batteries, but for now, they re the worst things out there

this is for sweety, you telling me your prius gets 100 mpg or your spyder got a mile per gallon.  sorry you re fibbing a bit to prove your point. driving the same amount ofmiles will not get that kind of savings. typical tree hugger.
