  1. It is the casinos choice to play money, for one hand, but win or lose the policy of casinos (all) is to remove the money and replace it with chips.  People are more likely to continue gambling with chips than money, and hence there are no clocks either.

There is NO casino that will let you continue to play with money on the table.

  2. The casino is taxed on all money that is placed "in the hopper"..  The IRS told all of the casinos to replace money plays with chips to make sure that the bets are counted in the casino end-of-day financials.

  3. i really don't know except to say it is for better control in the gaming table.

  4. -  They seem pretty careful to check bills for counterfeits. I imagine that is harder to do after the fact if they are taking cash bets.

    - I've seen very drunk men that seem desperate to lay down stacks of hundred dollar bills as fast as they can. The casinos downtown seem to make an exception for them.

    - It's lost on me. I understand that the pit boss wants the dealers to move quicker because they want more hands played or dice rolled per hour. I can't understand how a player can be so desperate that he can't wait two minutes to turn his cash into chips.

  5. How would they pay each win? They pay with chips so you have to convert your money into chips to place bets. Since they are color coded they are easier to see amount bet.

  6. I know places off the Strip (Sam's Town, Poker Palace, etc.) still allow cash bets in blackjack.  Don't know why they stopped using cash though. I hope that helps.
